Merits Montana Dream (aka Montana or Tanna) is a 13 yr old registered Bay Paint mare. She is 15 hands, but built very stocky so she looks bigger than that. She is sweet and loving, and comes when called. She stands for fly spraying, clipping, bathing, farrier, shots. . . And her ground work is impeccable. She loads by herself, and will quietly stand tied alone forever. Tanna is completely up to date on vaccines, worming, and farrier. She has been ridden out west many times, and stands tied at the trailer or tie line or in a corral quietly. She is traffic safe. I have owned her since birth, and she is a total 'people' horse. She has never been sick a day in her life. Her teeth were checked last fall and deemed perfect. Montana rides out alone without a fuss. She is an extremely easy keeper. Montana is totally beginner safe in the arena. She has flawless gate transitions, and pops into a canter from a standstill or walk effortlessly. She is lovely and smooth, with a fantastic soft jog trot. However, occasionally on the trail, for no obvious reason, she can get herself a bit 'hot' and needs an experienced rider. She never, EVER bucks, but she will arch her neck and prance in a very smooth, GORGEOUS neck arching, fluid movement. She is always easily held in control, but this would intimidate a novice rider. It kills me to sell her, but at this time in my life I need completely beginner trail safe horses for grandchildren. Montana's only quirk is that she needs either a treeless saddle or a saddle that fits her perfectly. She has very square withers, and most western saddles pinch her. She WILL buck in an ill-fitting saddle! She is a perfect lady in a properly fitting saddle! A promise must be made to me that her new owner will accommodate that issue. She is a sweet and loving mare, and does not deserve to be in pain or "beat through" something that is so easily solved with a correct fit.
